Community Wellness

Collective

  • 2018 – CWC formed in response to a local crisis. CWC began in 2018 as our community faced rising mental-health and substance-use challenges, including the tragic deaths of local high school students by suicide. We organized to provide supports for social determinants of health needs.

  • YCAP partnership — Low-barrier shelter. Shortly after, CWC contracted with YCAP to manage Yamhill County’s only low-barrier shelter, ensuring people could come inside without high hurdles.

  • Avoiding duplication — Shifting to day services. When YCAP opened the Navigation Center and night shelter in Newberg, CWC shifted to day sheltering to meet daytime needs and avoid duplicating services.

  • Drop-In Center — Church partnership. We partnered with 2nd Street Community Church to operate the Drop-In Center and Inclement Weather Shelter, keeping services accessible and close to where people already are.

Our Mission

Community Wellness Collective is a Newberg-based nonprofit focused on simple, practical help: a safe place to come inside, a warm meal, and a clear path to resources. We serve neighbors across Yamhill County with day sheltering, low-barrier weather shelter, community conversations and an online resource guide.
