Homeless Shelters

Gospel Rescue Mission (McMinnville)
Speak with Linda- House Manager, There is no waiting for women with children, but single men and women are generally placed on a waiting list. Someone is available at this facility 24 hours a day. Homeless families with children, single parents with children, single men and single women can find shelter at the Gospel Rescue Mission homeless shelter year-round.

Operated by YCAP (Yamhill Community Action Partnership).  This shelter is a house, and feels like a home. Eligibility: Married couples with children, single parents, and single women. Single men are not permitted.

Love INC has a Transitional Living Shelter for single women. There is an admission process, as this is not an emergency shelter, but rather a transitional living program. Please call Love INC to get on the call list for when a bed is available

A residential program offering housing and work for young men in recovery from alcohol and drug abuse. This program lasts 8 months and can support up to 22 men.

Rental Assistance

YCAP runs several house programs, some of the rent assistance programs for those that are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Some of the programs they offer include Tenant Based Assistance (TBA), Rural Oregon Leasing and Supportive Services (ROLS), Stabilization, and Supportive Services for Veteran Families. To find out more or to complete an intake call YCAP at 503 472-0457 and ask to speak with the client services case manager of the day. Or you can come in during office hours and request to see a Client Service staff at their location (1317 NE Dustin Ct., McMinnville)

Must connect with jeff@communitywarehouse.org prior to referring folks. Usually case managers need to accompany clients, although exceptions have been made where phone calls are acceptable. They can deliver for $200, otherwise folks need to bring own transportation for furniture. There is a $50.00 “access fee”.

City Outreach works with Churches and other community organizations in McMinnville to serve people in Yamhill. They help people with many different needs including household furnishings, food, clothing, personal care items and more. The distribution center is located at McMinnville First Christian Church. It is open to the public on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 am to 12 noon.

 Cribs for Kids
As an effort to reduce SIDS, the Tears Foundation partners with other organizations to provides cribs for families with infants 0-4 months old in need. Providers and organizations can refer families via their web page.
